A website that didn't represent her work...

Kirsty’s luxury floristry business had been established for over a decade, but had never had a website update.

Despite years of paying a considerable amount every month, the website was never redesigned and everything seemed like an extra charge – including getting it to work on mobile.

“We nearly didn’t book you. Even though you were recommended to us, your website looked so outdated and doesn’t show off just how good your work actually is”

After a client said this to her, she knew it was time to get a new website that represented the luxury wedding flowers she provides.

Work begins on her new website

We sat down and discussed her business, so I could fully understand who her clients were, how they booked with her, and what other services she offered.

We also talked about her workshops, and how she’d like to have people book onto her workshops and pay online, rather than everyone messaging her individually across all the platforms.

We broke the website project into stages:

  • Stage 1: New design focussed on wedding clients, with a portfolio, a clean layout and design, and an enquiry form
  • Stage 2: Workshop pages with dates, a sign-up form for updates, and the ability to book and pay online for these
  • Stage 3: A catalogue of all her products available to hire for weddings and events.

She received her first draft after a few weeks, and sent back her feedback and tweaks, which were mainly around the images used as headers and throughout the website.

Having a catalogue of several thousand professional images to go through, I sat down with Kirsty and we selected each image to make sure she was happy with the finished look.

The Difference

Whilst the old website didn’t have any analytics on at all, meaning we couldn’t track precisely what difference the new website made, the feedback she’s received from potential clients has been fantastic.

Kirsty now has a website that:

  • represents and showcases her excellent work,
  • reduces the amount of repetitive 1-2-1 communication she has across all her social channels
  • Brings in enquiries with important details rather than just generic enquiries, saving her time producing quotes for potential clients.
